Pioneer Websites consist of a number of well-trained designers, programmers and consultants in different locations across Australia. Each of our staff members are honest, simple people raised in the country and engage in volunteer work in their local communities every week.
No matter where you live they can call, email, fax and post you information regarding your website. They can employ low-cost local photographers when necessary and are always happy to answer any questions you have about your website, the internet or even life!

What is website design?
'Website design' means the creation of your website. It is a once-off charge to create the files that can be stored on the internet so that your website can be viewed when someone types in your domain name.
Your website files can include whatever photos and written text you desire. It can also include diagrams, video footage and/or sounds, forms and order forms. Pioneer Websites charge $349 to create a 'one-page' website.

What is a web page?
A web page is one file of a website. Most web pages fit inside one screen and can be seen entirely at once. If the web page is longer the one screen, you need to scroll down until you can see the bottom of the page. Pages longer than three screens can become difficult to read. Pioneer Websites term 'one page' as between one to three screens long in the most common screen size.

What is a domain name?
Your domain name is your website address. It has to be entirely unique for us to register it on the internet. Australian domain names end in .com.au (businesses) or .net.au (internet businesses) or .org.au (non-profit organisations).
Names can be up to 63 letters long. If the name you want is chosen, you only need add or remove one letter to make it different enough to register.
While you can advertise your name as having capitals (ie. www.PioneerWebsites.net.au) to make it more readable. The www in most addresses is optional (ie. pioneerwebsites.net.au works also). The exception is if purchase a sub-domain (see our 'kick-off' package).

What is hosting?
Hosting is what keeps your files on the internet. Instead of paying $1000's to purchase the equipment yourself to store your files on the internet, we host your files for you. Our professional file servers employ anti-fire, anti-theft and anti-blackout measures to provide you with reliable, round-the-clock, website access.

Do I get an email address?
Yes. If you host your website with Pioneer Websites we will create as many email addresses as you. They end with your website address (ie. @yourwebsite.com.au) and begin with two or more letters of your choice (ie. [email protected]). You must also choose a password to secure each email address. We will help you set up your new email address, usually by sending you a message to your old email address or by directing you to a special page on our website. Either way, all you have to do is click on a link.

How do I market my website?
Customers know they can find the information they want on your website - they just need to know you have one. Put your website and email address on all your stationary: Business Cards, Letterheads, With Compliments slips. Promote your new business or current specials with Flyers and Stickers. Put your website address on you work and family vehicles. See our marketing page for inexpensive ideas. A good marketing plan uses every possible cost-effective avenue.

Can you find my website by searching the internet?
Yes. Typing words from your website into a search engine like Google will find your website. However, depending which words you type, there may be millions of other sites that already match those words. You will need to be specific. Pioneer Websites use professional practice design methods which provide high-ranking search listings. However, if search engine listings are critical to you, you will need to email us about our Search Engine Optimisation advanced service.

What is included in a website package?

For simplicity sakes we offer three website design packages. We are committed to assisting your purchase so that you get a fair deal. The package details are therefore not rules but rather guidelines to help you determine what sort of website you require.
    - SIMPLY SALES - one page (usually up to three screens long). May contain photos, text, simple contact/order form
    - BEST OF BOTH - five pages. Our best seller. May contain extensive write-up, order form and product photos
    - BELLS & WHISTLES - five pages plus two bonus choices including but not limited to another five pages, gallery, special effects
When you request a website, Pioneer Websites will discuss your design ideas and layout with you. You will then receive email confirmation of the discussion, along with details of how to send us whatever information you have (ie. photos, write-up, logo, etc) and a deposit. Packages are flexible and can be mixed ie. make your own BEST OF BOTH with two pages and a gallery. Feel free to email us for a quote on your idea.

What domain name & hosting packages do you offer?

Due to the size of internet storage space required, the cost of your package depends on which website design you choose.
    - BE PROFESSIONAL - your own website address (ie. YourName.com.au) and email names (ie. [email protected])
    - KICK-OFF - your website is stored on ours (ie. YourName.pioneerwebsites.net.au)
Note: If you choose our 'kick-off' hosting package, your address will ONLY work when entered without the www (ie. YourName.pioneerwebsites.net.au). Your email addresses will end in @pioneerwebsites.net.au.

Why are your prices so cheap?
The internet is the most rapidly changing industry and Pioneer Websites take advantage of new technology which allows them to offer discounted services. Thanks to good-old-fashioned country honesty, these trade price savings are passed onto you. This applies to both our web design packages, domain names and hosting, and our marketing supplies (printing & signage).

Do you use templates or website design software?
No. Your website will be custom-built by humans! This is still the most cost effective way to produce QUALITY websites which work on different computer types using all types of different software. This means your potential customers will see your website just the way you see it. This is achieved by writing your website programming code according to the latest strict internet standard validated by the official World Wide Web Consortium.
